About Us

Tara is the founder and director of Happy Kids Occupational Therapy. She is an experienced Occupational Therapist (O.T.) who has worked in hospital and community mental health / paediatric settings, in an Autistic school, and in private practice across the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. More recently she has spent time in London working in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services with a Neurodevelopmental Stream of a CAMHS service, and is now working part-time in inpatient child mental health and neurodevelopmental services.

Tara is passionate about working with children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), anxiety, and difficulty participating and engaging in their everyday activities. She has a special interest in working with Autistic girls. Tara loves to motivate the children and young people she works with by incorporating their interests and passions, and supports them to reach their full potential by utilising a team approach with the family, education staff, and other health professionals.

Tara has also worked in a TEACCH autism program setting, where she developed a strong interest and skill set in providing structure and reducing the associated anxiety for many children with ASD.
